\npencils and eraser
\nsharpie markers
\na piece of tracing paper
\n1 sheet of newsprint and 1 sheet of bristol board paper four personal objects to draw from in class<\/p>\n

CLASS TRIP:<\/p>\n

***We will leave as a group together from the classroom when you drop off your materials at 11:45am.<\/p>\n

Suggested Admission means you can pay what you can afford (1\u00a2 if you like).<\/p>\n

Personal exploration through cultural and personal objects.<\/p>\n

\n

Record a 3 dimentional object or figurative sculpture in your sketchbook from the area of the Museum relating most closely to your own cultural background. Use any and all media listed above. Focus\u00a0on accuracy in regard to contour, shading and the measured proportions of your drawings, to prepare for all 3 drawings of the following weeks. You can also take photos.<\/p>\n

Report back to the front of the museum on time given – to return to the class together.<\/p>\n

IN CLASS:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Transfer drawings in sketchbook with tracing paper onto a larger sheet of bristol drawing paper using the grid technique (we will discuss in class).<\/p>\n

The four objects brought in and the museum drawings will be combined subjects for in-class assignments. Each composition will differ.<\/p>\n

LONGTERM ASSIGNMENT:<\/p>\n

Combine sculpture with personal objects in one composition. Keep in mind both the personal\u00a0and the cultural aspects of these objects and the overall subject matter. Use the subject matter from these objects for the next in-class assignments and continue the drawings at home for homework. Use bristol board for first part of project. Complete three final drawings for the critique in three weeks. We will go over the techniques and materials separately in following classes:<\/p>\n

2. Positive and Negative<\/p>\n

3. Value \u00a0(lesson in shading will be given the same day).<\/p>\n
